I tried that in Laos and now the application is online and they require a ton of information including a Thai bank account with proof of funds on application
It is my understanding that I can get a 90 Non-o visa without bank account .. I will have to open bank account once I have visa and let money sit for 2 months before getting extension to 1 year
I have all required paperwork less bank account in Thailand. I am bringing copies of my USA bank to show funds are available to transfer
thank you , I believe I can start the process to convert my tourist visa into a non-o retirement from within Thailand. I’ll have to start with immigration again in Nonthaburi.
everything might be easier with an agent, but I know even the agents in Bangkok I haven’t serious problems, opening bank accounts for their customers just last week a bank employee in Pattaya was arrested for opening bank accounts
I think the whole process is a mess. I went to Laos from Thailand to apply for the non-O visa once there I find out you have to submit the application online now there is no in person visits. You need to attach a copy of your criminal record, a health screening and a copy of your Thai bank account with ฿800,000.
I just got back from Laos and unfortunately now you have to apply for the non-O visa online they do not do it in person. There is a requirement that you must show ฿800,000 in a Thai bank, which is the problem for all of us, we can’t get the bank account without the visa. I’m back in Thailand now and trying to work this out. Good luck everybody.
