Have there been any updates on the requirement to stay in Laos over night when doing a border bounce? I'd be heading over from Chiang Mai.

Will be arriving in Thailand next week, then making arrnagements before exiting to apply for the DTV.. What's the best option now, considering many are on e-visas, are walk-ins still available in Jakarta or Taipei? Any thoughts as to which is the best.

I believe Laos is still doing walkins but you need to have the funds in your bank for 3-6 months? not for me as I've only recently made the funds available in my Bank.

Any help appreciated thanks. Preferring a walk-in option to an e-visa if possible.

My employer is a huge company, I am allowed to work remotely, but they can't provide paperwork other than proof of employment (with no mention of remote work). Will that pass in Laos?

Hey all

Please see the edit below.

I was thinking of doing a bounce at the huai kon crossing. Huai Kon Border Checkpoint

[members only]

I was there in 2019. They said i could cross into laos, but i could not bring my motorcycle (i went to chiang khong instead)

I wss thinking of the huai kon crossing juat for fun. Has anyone do it in 2022 or 2023?

Thanks. I have several days, and i plan to ride around nan, so i may just go and try. If not i can easily hit chiang khong.

Thanks

Edit to add:

Ok. Feb 3, 2023. In order to cross at the huai kon checkpoint you need a laos visa in your passport. No e visa. No visa at the border.

You must have the physical visa in your passport.

Tomorrow i am Off to chiang khong.

Paul Luke McAteer posted in an unrelated thread

I’ve to get a non b cancelled and a tourist visa to wait on new non b application.

Do I need to go to immigration for this or just go across the border?

Do you need to book with Laos? Thanks I’m new to this.

Hi all,

I am doing a non-paid internship from June on and need to apply for a non-immigrant ED Visa in a neighboring country of TH. Any experience or recommendations?

I saw many are going to Laos but they have two different information on their website what documents I need and no one is answering the phone/email.

Any experience with Yangon or Kuala Lumpur?

Thanks for your help!

Hi ! I just got the letter and papers from my thai school to go and apply for the ED visa - 15 months. They advise Laos. I plan to go by plane in Vientiane. Anyone experimenting that recently ?

Where can I got the opening time of the thai enbassy visa service in Laos?

And what kind of paper I shall bring to be sure I have everything needed on site.

I heard you can give the paper in the morning and get your visa in the afternoon. Is that correct ?

Well all up to date infos on this will be very helpful to prepare my trip next week.

Thanks you so much for your help 🙏🙏

Ps: any good accomodation tip around the embassy too if you have 🙏👍
