You don't seem to be reading the posts. Getting a pension is totally irrelevant to the DTV, as proof of income is not required. It's simply a case of working remotely and showing the equivalent of 500k baht in an overseas bank account. Anyone with half an ounce of intelligence can do that!
There's absolutely no restriction on a retiree becoming a remote worker. I know four people personally who have already made the switch. This visa is flying off the shelf for retirees. The criteria to qualify is a cake-walk. This is the new "retirement visa" for many people.
