How long does the extension of a Non-O Retirement take in terms of not being able to leave the country etc.? Really only 5 minutes, i.e. one day? Or is it longer? Thanks.

Yes, that is your problem. You basically have to enter India, pick up you r luggage, then check-in newly. Which is why buying these Kiwi things is often not very smart. Also when flight times of the first flight are changed or there is a delay, you are screwed
