I am 71 years old and on ME OA (R) Visa issued in South Africa. Valid until 27 Feb 2025. I need to do first one year extension in Feb 2025. I want to use the Income method but my problem is that I only managed to open Bank Account in April.

(We arrived in March) I do have proof of arriving with Forex in excess of Baht 100 k cash for March but will only have bank statements for 11 months to prove 65k income. Will immigration accept the cash forex as income for March to meet the 12 month requirement?

If it is an option could I use a combination Income plus 400k bank

balance ?

We are in Lamai Koh Samui

Thanks folks.

This is the requirement list for non imm O and OA extensions on Koh Samui, and now, also Phangan.

The requirement for a house number photo (Item 12.) is new to me, but no problem.

Item 13. I dont recollect seeing before and dont recognise the numeric 654/2564

Anyone know?

Hi all, does anyone have a recent (1-2 months) list of extension requirements for O-A (retirement) visa from Koh Samui immigration office? Time to extend again or change to O (due to insurance).

Hello. I am Japanese and entered the country on a tourist visa. I have a Thai wife. I prepared all the documents and applied for my first O visa (Thai wife) at the immigration office on Koh Samui on July 26th. They said they would send my documents to the head office in Hat Yai. My tourist visa expires on August 13th, but the immigration office told me that my O visa would arrive before then. On July 27, the immigration office also conducted a home visit. However, I was told that the visa had not arrived by August 13th. When I was accepted on Koh Samui, I was told that I had a 90% chance of passing, so I had to wait. They say if you pass, you won't be overstayed. Since then, I have been calling the immigration office on Koh Samui every day on weekdays to confirm whether my visa has arrived, but I have been told that it has not yet arrived. There are no stamps on my passport, only the writing in pen. Is it normal to have to wait this long? Or if I fail, am I overstaying? I'm in big trouble.

1301 is my reception number.

I also have a receipt for the payment of ΰΈΏ2000.

In 2 weeks I will be set to get my next 1 year extension based on marriage. The question I have is that we have been living in SA keao last 3 years and that is where I have applied for the extension and submitted all the paperwork etc, but we are now on koh samui as we are setting up a business here, would it be possible to be able to get the extension stamp at samui immigration or am I going to have to go all the way back to sa keao immigration?

Obviously if I have to go back up there to get it for a few days then that's what I'll have to do but it would be better if it was possible to do it here in Samui and not have to make a long trip there and back

Thanks πŸ™

I was just told by the immigration office on Koh Samui that I can NOT apply for a retirement Visa because I used the 45 day exemption when I arrived.

Anyone have a clue on what I'm supposed to do to get a retirement Visa? I meet all the requirements.

Stressed.

If I arrive in Thailand from Australia on a 30 day visa exemption and want to extend my stay an extra 30 days, is the 30 day extension from the date you attend the immigration office or 30 days from the expiration date of the visa exemption? Ie Can I attend immigration a week prior and stoll get 60 days total or will they just give me 30 days from attendance date, meaning I shouldn't attend immigration until the last day of my visa exemption?
