A friend just extended his free 30 entry by another 30 days in Phuket, Patong beach. I know it is suppose to be 1900 baht but the immigration folk there charged him 2200 baht. Has to be cash and no receipt.

I’m very confused how Thai visa agents help people who don’t have the 800,000 for retirement visa. Do they put 800,000 in a bank under your name and then pull it all out after 5mo? Dont you have to leave at least 400,000 in the account at all times? Of course I would NEVER do that. Couldn’t a person just skip out with it all it’s in a bank under your name what am I missing?

Is it practise in Thai immigration not to provide a receipt for the payment of your visa or letter to get a Thai licence? Does this not leave the door open to corruption?

Be very careful and scrutinize thoroughly the agents you work with if you choose not to spend your own time completing your visa docs.
