Hi guys,

This question might have been asked before but please allow me to ask.

Has anyone ever experienced applying for a “transit visa” after getting your “tourist visa”?

I’ve got my tourist visa in Phnom Penh but I have a change of plan(due to work). And I need to apply for a transit visa.

Do I need to cancel my tourist visa or I can just apply for another visa without any issue?

I’ve tried asking the embassy but haven’t got the reply yet. If anyone has ever experienced it, can you please kindly share it?

TIA

Edited because my post might not be clear.

I think I was not clear enough for my situation. Please allow me to explain.

I’m a sailor. My previous plan was to come to Thailand with tourist visa for vacation.

But now plans have changed because I now have to come to Thailand to join a ship and do some documents for only like 20 days. Then, I’ll leave Thailand with a ship because that’s where I’ll be working.

As a sailor, I’m required to come to Thailand with a transit visa if I’m joining a vessel. Also, I’ll be renewing my passport in my country’s embassy while I’m in Thailand for about 20 days. For renewing, I’ve enquired my embassy and they told me specifically that I’ll have to come with a transit visa. That’s why I can only come to Thailand with a transit visa not with a tourist visa.

Question.

I have a retirement visa. I have ticket purchased to fly BKK to India on 12 January.

Now I have an invite to Philippines but in order to get my BKK to India flight I would have tonovernight in Bangkok.

What do I do in terms of Re-entry permits.

First one is to entry through Bangkok.

Then another before fly to India next day?

Or can I stay over one night in Bangkok on a transit visa and have my re-entry permit for when I re-enter from India rather than Philippines. TIA for advice

Has anyone flown China Eastern Airlines from BKK to MEL via CAN (Guangzhou) with a 1 hour 50 minute transit in China, baggage checked through to Melbourne?

Both flights use the same terminal so my question is:

Will I need a visa for China?

I am scheduled to arrive in Thailand by air on the 11th of February 2024 and plan to depart 11 days later to visit neighboring countries. Subsequently, I will return to Thailand on the 24th March via Suvarnabhumi Airport, where I intend to stay only at the airport while waiting for my connecting flight to my destination country.

In light of this itinerary, I am seeking guidance on whether I should apply for a single-entry or multiple-entry visa. Additionally, I would appreciate information on the application process, specifically if it can be completed online or if it needs to be done upon arrival ( Maltese citizenship entitles us to do it upon entry as well)

Your assistance in providing clarity on these matters would be immensely helpful as I prepare for my travel arrangements.

Hi everyone,

I will be visiting Thailand wjth my partner in February.

I am travelling after my wedding in india (Indian National and Indian passport holder but i live in the UK). I will be visiting Thailand for 10 days, and will apply for the standard Thailand tourist visa.

We will be going to koh samui first and then krabi.

My question is, the fligjt I’m looking to book to Koh Samui has a self transfer at Bangkok airport as my bags won’t be checked through to the Bangkok to koh samui flight. Hence I will need to collect my bags, leave Bangkok airport and re-enter the airport and go through the whole immigration process to board the koh samui fligjt.

My question is, would I need a separate transit visa for this self transfer at Bangkok, or would the tourist visa I’m already getting for this trip allow me to go through immigration again? I was thinking the latter since it’s domestic travel within Thailand, but I’m not sure.

I hope this question makes sense?

Thank you so much in advance!
