Ive spent 3 years learning to read thai and was looking forward to retirement with my wife there in November(on a marriage visa).

Im really having second thoughts. My tells me regularly that ‘you will learn’.

Having a passion for thai culture, language history and geography, counts for nothing. I will always be a farang.

im married to a thai and my wife has been living in the UK for 22 years.

Now, we are preparing to emigrate back to thailand on a marriage visa after going over on a Type-O.

OK i see a marriage visa is still OK but what next year? Or the year after??

And why settle in a country the deep down doesn’t want us there?

Yes my wife and daughter completed it as they both used their UK passports rather than their Thsi passports.

That was because I had already booked the flights and used the uk passports.

But i think they could still have entered on their thai passports and departed on their thai passport but re-enter uk on their uk passport.

Bit confusing!!
