My boyfriend has just received his U.S. passport and will be flying to Bangkok, Thailand in September 2025,but he was convicted of felony which he served time for and is now off parole. My question is will he be allowed entry in to Thailand and are there any further documents he would need to make his entry here in Thailand go smoothly?
Once he has arrived Thailand we are hoping to get married and make his stay here long term.
I am a Thai citizen my boyfriend is ( US citizen)
Please advise any comments and information will be most helpful.
All, I am just beginning to explore the visa process. I am a U.S. citizen, currently in the U.S. on the Thai embassy website it states that for an OA visa I will need a police clearance letter. Who has done this? Where do you get a police clearance letter? The website suggests the FBI??? My record is spotless. I just don’t know how to go about getting a letter such as This.
"I'm confused. Recently, Thailand changed the tourist visa duration from 60 days back to 30 days, starting in May 2025. However, when I visited the official Thai E-Visa website and checked the FAQ section under 'Do I need a tourist visa?', I entered my nationality (United States) and my intended stay (60 days). The website responded: 'You can travel to Thailand without a visa for no longer than 60 days.'
Does this mean I can stay in Thailand for 60 days without needing to apply for a visa extension?"
From my search, it looks like U.S. citizens can still stay in Thailand visa-free for up to 60 days. However, Thailand is introducing an Electronic Travel Authorization (ETA) system starting in June 2025, which will require visa-exempt travelers to register before arrival.
Do I need a return ticket or out of Thailand flight to travel to Thailand? I saw this requirement for 90 visa, but I don’t know how long I will stay in Thailand and where I go next, Bali or Vietnam or Philippines, if I just order a one way ticket, am I allowed to enter Thailand? I am from America.
Does the DTV bar you from conducting any work in Thailand OR working for a Thailand-based company? For example, I also do professional speaking. I'm American. Could I get hired to speak in-person at a corporate event or retreat in Thailand that is put on by an American company?
U.S. Citizen currently living in the Philippines planning a trip to Bangkok and other places in Thailand for 30 days late October. Other than a passport anything else required?
I am desperately in need of help from the experts in this community.
I have twice applied for a trailing spouse visa for my wife, but her visa application was rejected with the following reason:
"Your visa application has been rejected because Non-Immigrant O visa holders my not have dependents."
I have a Non-O retirement visa with one-year extension. We are both U.S. citizens. Wife has residency in Hong Kong so we applied there. Which of the following visa should we apply for?
1. To stay with non-Thai family residing in Thailand (more than 60 days).
1. To stay with Thai family residing in Thailand (more than 60 days).
If we select any of the retirement category visa, the document list will ask my wife for her 800,000 baht bank deposit, which is not what we want to do.
I’ve been in Thailand for 5 months now and it looks like I’ll be soon enough running out of options from the immigration office to avoid visa/border runs to stay longer.
What’s the visa process like if I fleet Thailand for 1-2 months and come back?
Can I still get a visa on arrival, a tourist extension, etc?
Nationality: USA
Location: Phangan, but might be in Chang Mai before my visa expires
Type of Visa: Not sure. The visa prior was a covid visa extension. The visa I have today is a 45 day visa given from the Thailand border (went on a border run to Malaysia)
Time in Country: Visa expires Nov 16
Thank you guys in advance. Your help is much appreciated 🙏🏼
