Nik Dadd I have Non O retirement visa. Opened first bank account with BAAC bank. Only been here for 8 months so not renewed yet but for original visa I had 800k+ in bank for 3 months, went to bank took 5k out, got book updated and, for a few baht, got statement for Immigration. No issues
Sadly you are on the merry go round of Thai banking. It's likely that if you go back tomorrow and talk to someone else you will be asked for different identification! I did this in January this year and tried multiple banks in my local town, they All asked for different I.D. We went to a local shopping centre with 5 banks last December (when I was here on holiday) same thing. When I retired here in January we went to our local BAAC, they wanted a work permit for my retirement visa! Tried another 5 or 6 banks in Ubon (they wanted a variety of WP, letter from embassy, retirement visa in passport, marriage certificate etc) . We finally stopped at another BAAC branch where a lovely lady photocopied my passport, no questions asked. Hallelujah, a bank account. There is no rhyme or reason to opening an account sadly. Hit EVERY bank you can, preferably with a Thai speaker, dress smartly and take every bit of paper with you. Eventually one will open an account but you will be non the wiser why. Remember, only Kasikorn, SCB and Bangkok banks can accept international transfers over 50,000 baht..... it took me a while 🥴. Good luck
I came in on a 90 day visa in January. Didn't give a monkeys about dates for this or that. Did everything as soon as I had money in bank. If you leave it, and don't have info/papers they need, you might have problems. Personally I would do it as soon as you can
ok, I'll explain it it to you. I am looking for a raw piece of meat, either smoked or not, prepared or not from a pig. Not sure why it's so difficult for you to understand! They kill a pig, chop it into bits.....then appear to sell everything EXCEPT the bit I'm looking for. I, that is to say ME, would like to purchase the aforementioned piece of raw, unprepared, meat and "prepare" it myself after taking it out of a plastic bag. The only preparation I would like to leave to the professionals is killing it and butchering it. I hope this clears it up for you
part of the pig. In the UK we buy it raw as, smoked or unsmoked, gammon ham. Take it home and soak it, then boil/roast it. I was asking why it is so hard to find the same cut of meat here
I am not implying anything! I merely asked the question that as a country that eats every part of the pig why is it so hard to find a specific piece here. I have a choice to not eat the watery crap on offer here, the same as I didn't eat the watery crap that Tesco and the others sell in my own country. However in my own country, and others around the world, we CAN buy every part of the animal. If this offends you I apologise but perhaps you should read the question again
I'm north east but thanks anyway. Back in the UK my family all wanted me to spend Christmas with them as my gammon hams were very tasty! Made about 4 or 5 over 2 weeks as they got eaten so fast!
