i recently used Sloanes in Bangkok for a 2 kilo one. Cost me over 1500 baht to get here near Ubon Ratchathani. I am yet to find a local provider despite pig farms everywhere!
Hi, I had a Certificate of Residence from the tourist police but the driving licence department kept it. I didn't think to ask for them to take a copy and give me back the original. I'll give Mitsubishi this as this is what they're asking for and wait for the next phone call!! Thanks for replying
Looks like a LOT of people had a hard time getting a licence. 8am I went to Ubon licence building a couple of months ago with my Thai fiancée. I took my passport, UK driving licence and International Driving Permit, no explanation of any codes. I had a 'medical' (asked 2 questions, Dr ticked a few boxes) passport copied, upstairs to have documents checked. Enter 2nd room, stand in line for traffic light test, stand in another line for reaction test, about 7 minutes total. Passed both, goto another room, have photo taken and pay for licence. Start to finish almost exactly 2 hours. Maybe I was lucky!
Mid January 2022, opened an account at BAAC in Ubon after about 15-20 walk-ins, even on the day to another BAAC branch. None of them would open an account if I didn't have one, or a combination, of the following; retirement visa stamp in passport, work permit, marriage certificate, certified letter from UK embassy in Bangkok, certificate of residence. Sadly there appears to be no bank that has a straight forward application process. Go into LOTS of branches, with a Thai speaker, and cross your fingers . Good luck
