...just wanted to add my 10 cents worth as this is gonna directly impact me 😕 being a Kiwi. I'll be applying for my Non Imm O Visa in around 10 months. Yes it's an extra $680 but in the bigger scheme of things it's somewhat insignificant when factoring in what we'll be spending on building a house, car, health insurance etc. From all reports it's less hassle opening bank accounts arriving with the visa not to mention the added route marching back and forth to IO applying in country. I've been in contact with the Embassy here in Wellington on several occasions, they've always been helpful and responded in a timely manner. Would prefer to have been paying $120 but not gonna get all bitter and twisted with the (crazy😮) increase.
At this stage the visa applications need to be submitted by send the original passport and other required documents by courier or in person.
*For your information, after Mid-March 2024, the Royal Thai Embassy Wellington will update/increase all the visa fees and E-visa will be available through Royal Thai Embassy Wellington (which mean you do not need to submit the original passport/all the requirements by courier). We will stop receiving visa applications by courier/in person after E-visa applications being officially approved and announce. For further update you may visit
-tourist-visa directly for further assistance/information. You may submit visa application 4-6 weeks before departure date.
Note: The visa section is open between 09:30 am – 12.00 pm on Monday – Friday (except public and embassy holidays). Please contact the visa section only between working hours.

I used Express when we were in Thailand last year to watch sport (mainly rugby funny old thing!) back in NZ. It worked pretty well, sometimes took a few attempts to connect to the server but after that worked okay. I'va also heard good reports on Nord and SurfShark from third parties, you just have to be aware that some of these people are being sponsored by those providers so read into it what you will. Hope your watching Ireland v France at the moment.
the interpretation and application of immigration laws in Thailand relies entirely with the officer who greets you on arrival. Nobody in this group has a crystal ball and can predict what that officer will want to see or not. As they say, it’ll be alright until it’s not!
