this is the 5th time we do this. First time my wife was still under 50 but for the last 3 times she is over 50. Maybe they “grandfather” running extensions and have more strict rules for new ones?

Do my wife and I need separate bank accounts to apply for retirement visas in Thailand?

Paul **************

You need a minimum of 800k not 700k. Wether or not your wife can piggyback on your extension depends on where you apply for the extension. I know from experience Chiang Mai allows that but other immigration offices might not, also make sure the 800k is NOT in a joined account.
