My husband usually stays with me on a tourist visa but has gone back to Italy to apply for his spouse visa (Non-Immigrant O). He applied last Monday, but his return flight to Bangkok is this Monday and his visa still hasn't been approved.
Do you know if he can enter Thailand on a tourist visa while waiting for his Non-Immigrant O visa to be approved? Or is he better off rescheduling his flight, and if so, to when?
Want to open Thai bank account this May to put in funds to apply for retirement 1 year extension.

Will this be enough to get me a residence permit from the immigration office in Jomtien ?
I have been there before to get a 30 day extension.
Do I just join the queue to try to get residence permit or is there a separate section at the immigration centre who deal with this matter? Any advice appreciated.
Hello colleagues. I have read that one of the motivations for applying for DTV visa may be having family in Thailand. Can it be a child with a Thai woman, but out of wedlock? Thank you 🙏
My situation is that I have a non-immi 'O' visa with one year retirement extension and no re-entry permit so far.
I now need to leave/return Thailand once, before my extension expires, and retain my current visa so I can extend again.
I got my last extension renewal at Jomtien, Chonburi.
I'm in Phuket now and want to stay south, flying out of the country from Samui in June. I see now that I probably should have applied for a re-entry permit at Jomtien before I left.
I just want to confirm that it's NOT possible to apply for a re-entry permit at Phuket immigration and that I need fly from Don Mueang or Suvarnabhumi airport and apply there when I fly.
If so, are there any issues with doing that which have occurred recently?
I have just received my Non-Immigrant 0 visa. I filled out the application form, and told the embassy my date of travel 01/06/2025 that then gives me 3 months, they have issued the E-VISA from 18/04/2025 until 16/07/2025, can I get it changed or should I go to immigration and explain when I arrive, and Brandon what are the complications.
We are a British couple (over 50) who have taken early retirement and are considering relocating to Koh Samui.
We currently live in Northern Cyprus so do not have access to a Thai Embassy/Consulate in order to apply in person for a 90 non immigrant O visa prior to arriving in Thailand.
I have looked at the Thai E-Visa website to try to apply online but I cannot see this visa type as an option (just a long stay OA visa or a Tourist visa).
My question is if we arrive on an initial 60 day Tourist visa will I be able to open a bank account with this visa type, in order to then meet the financial requirements to apply in Koh Samui for the non immigrant O visa, and subsequent extension?
Has anyone been able to renew their retirement visa (Non-Immigrant O, one year). By making sure you deposit 65,000 baht pension funds into your bank account each month? What documentation is required? What steps did you take? Thanks!
