Hahaaha I mean no disrespect to retirees in general at all. I should have probably said "people".

In a way I wish I could have experienced the world when you were young. I grew up without internet or really digital until I was around 12 or 13, then it was off to the races, and I am grateful for even that short time without the weight of the world screaming at me through a screen everywhere I go.

Easy. Look for the retirees bitterly scowling and mumbling about real work, there in their line of fire you will find someone who decided not to spend their best years at a thankless job. Which really irritates those who did.

I understand where you're coming from, but voicing legitimate concerns is one way which a society can have the good fortune of moving forward. Pretending that everything is perfect because I wasn't born here does nothing but protect the feelings of nationalists and allow progress to stagnate, and who cares about the feelings of nationalists tbh. Come to my country and talk all the shit you want about legitimate issues which should change. I mean it, I would appreciate it as would anyone who truly cares about the state of their society.

I lived for 3 years in a village where I was one of a small handful of foreign teachers. It sucks man. It's nice to speak with someone with whom you share a cultural background and language at least sometimes. She's not gonna learn Thai immediately.

Depends on the border guard. I paid 1000 baht because I left the day after my work permit was cancelled. The immigration officer who cancelled it told me that I had 24 hours to leave without penalty, The border guard said "no... you pay".

That's single entry tourist visa correct? That was my original plan so that'd be ok. I imagine I'd get it with my employment history. Thanks for the advice. I just want to be sure as my whole life is here basically.

Ok thank you, I did not know that. I'll look into visas that I can apply for in Laos, ED is always an option but I understand that they're tightening the reigns on those. I'd just like at least six months of freedom here before I jump back into the classroom.

Can she leave the country a day or 2 before the cancellation date?
