What are the visa cancellation procedures and timeframes for a spouse on a NON-O visa in Thailand?

Hi guys, quick question. 

My wife is on a non-o spouse extension attached to my visa. I am a teacher. (I'm sorry if the nomenclature is not correct, her stamp says non o) 

She will cancel and change her visa soon, my employer will issue a letter to cancel.

My question is about dates. Will she have a window of time that she can leave the country after cancellation, 7 days for example, or will she need to leave that same day? I'd like to be sure about what dates we need on the letter.

She can go to the immigration office 10 days or so before the date says to cancel it on the letter and they should cancel her extension effective the date on the letter giving her time to get out

IF for some reason the immigration office you use won't do an 'early cancellation' (cancel it a week or so before the date on the letter but let her stay until then) she could get a 7 day "application for extension not approved" stamp for 1900baht that will give her a week to get out
