What was the experience of getting a DTV visa on arrival at Bangkok airport like?

Received my DTV Dec 26 in Ha Noi, 5 business days, American Passport

Last night before dinner, I went to a local print shop I have driven by near my Airbnb.

Walked in and Google Translated that I wanted a laminated 4x5 Mini DTV Approval letter, and a printed DTAC arrival. I was able to Apple Airdrop him both the items.

4 minutes later I had my “DTV Passport sized Packet” cost me 20,000 dong.

At dinner I looked for a fast track service. As I just wanted an easy VIP experience and no waiting in super busy immigration lines of the New Year’s Eve rush at Bkk.

Saw a few ranging from 1700-3000+baht.

“My Tour Desk” I found an ad here on Facebook and it was cheaper than most I have seen. So I took a chance. 😜.

Clicked the link, Filled out my basic Info, added my Flight Number and arrival date, and pressed pay.

💵 1700 Baht

10 minutes later I was WhatsApp messaged from My Tour Desk letting me know a “Butler” would meet me at the end of my arrival gate, and could I send a selfie so the butler could recognize me. Easy, Sent

Left Hanoi this morning at 9:30. Arrived Back to BKK at 11:30.

Walked off the plane and up the gangway, I was met at my arrival gate by an awesome energetic Butler. Greeted me and said hello.

I Handed him my Passport Packet. He was mega impressed. 🤣 Said let’s go, follow Me.

We walked to a little bit father gate than the masses and was met by Immigration Guard. He looked at all my stuff briefly, said wow looks great.

He told me to proceed past him and walked around the corner to a private IO booth, with zero people in line, to a bored older IO,

I handed him all my items, I pressed my right hand to the finger print screen. Old guy barely looked upwards towards me.

Stamp Visa, DTV E Visa written in pen. Extra stamp with exit date of June 27th.

He Handed back my passport packet.

Khàawp khun khráp 🙏🏻

I walked around the corner to where I was greeted with my 3rd Butler.

He walked me over to the carousel, waited with me for 20 minutes to get my bag, chatted about life.

Bag finally came off the belt, he snags it and started

Wheeling it away with me in tow. He walked me to Bangkok Air Domestic Departure on the 4th level.

We went over to the Bangkok Air Elite line.

I Handed my passport, cellphone my digital boarding pass to the Agent, she slapped a baggage tag for Samui.

The Butler then walked me over to the Domestic departure Boarding pass area. High Fived Me, at my request and waits until I am past boarding pass Officer Checks.

Pretty seamless and amazing experience for my First DTV arrival stamp of my 5 Years being able to Live in the Kingdom.

Here’s a solid tip for you; if you’re a traveler through BKK a lot like I am as I go back and forth to visit my kids back in the states about every 6 weeks or so, it’s worth applying for global entry and adding on APEC(Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation) for an extra $50. That APEC card allows you to get waved on through the fast track line for free. I use it all the time.

@Jason ********
it mentions you have to be on business trip associated with APEC or a government official, I assume you are one of the above.
Jason *********
Nah, I just work here remotely. I flash the card and they wave me through to fast track every time, no questions.

Jason Couture perfect!! Going to research that now! Thanks for the positivity!

Of course you won’t have a personal guide but it’s well worth the $50 for me. I’ve been pretty lucky at customs a bunch of times and only had to wait like 10-30 minutes but that fast track has me spoiled. 😆

same with the not long wait and I usually. But the the price of the card was the one time service. I don’t need a handler, I needed the line access! Now you’ve given me the info for my “golden ticket”..🙌🏻

I just did a Fast Entry using Kiss Tours in HCMC Vietnam-- amazingly quick > my previous entry into Vietnam took three hours
Moon **********
So that's just a fast track service, not a "safe entry" right?
Greg *******
ORIGINAL POSTER
Yes, didn’t need “safe entry” was more like ya see this, I walked passed this and 2 minutes later was going around the corner to the baggage claim

just a guy telling people in a specific group where everyone is asking questions.

I just wrote in a report style on how easy it was going through immigration with the fast track. In the year of living here I have flown out 8 times and never used a service. Figured with the high season rush, and really just wanting to experience something different.

*not an ad, not selling anything.

What visa are you on then? Advice is visa and context specific. Anecdotes do not make data

obviously I am on a DTV Visa, Workcation. Own boss.

Filed out my own application and got all my documents myself.

19 Dec apply 2100h

23 Dec I was asked for documents a second time to get a clearer picture of my entry stamp into Ha Noi. Sent immediately.

26 Dec Approved.

Enough data for you?

Simple and easy followed steps learned by reading others posts, about what to and not to do.
