Hi guys, tm30 question.

Can we just have whatever hotel we are at for the days of visa renewal fill out the tm30 form for visa extension?

Thanks!

TLDR : Answer Summary
The TM30 form is crucial for visa extensions in Thailand. Depending on your entry visa type, you may need to ensure the TM30 is filled out by a hotel where you have stayed for more than a day. Non-tourist visa holders typically must visit their local immigration office, while tourist visa holders can use any immigration office. Note that different immigration offices may have varying policies, so acceptance of your TM30 may not be guaranteed.

I removed a few comments. Different immigration offices have different policies about the TM30. Virtually all immigration offices ask to see a TM30 before processing the 60 day extension of stay based on COVID-19.

Try it ..but no guarantee immigration will accept your application. May tell you to return to your registered address in Thailand.

Did you ever close out that UNDER CONSIDERATION stamp that was in your passport in June?

haha yes, I had to go to Surat Tani from CM to close it though. I got a new under consideration stamp in November, and then closed it as well. I'm good but I need to extend again.

thankfully.

Then get TM30 registered where you are going to apply for the extension... Hopefully they grant it.

Great question!
@Matt *******
, if you did not close out that Under Consideration stamp in June, OR have an additional extension of stay, you may be on overstay. Overstay is a fine of 500THB a day, maximum 20K THB. After 90 days overstay, you'll be blacklisted for a year.

I'm on a visa exempt, tourist extension due to covid. I'm just wondering if you need to stay at a hotel for more than, say, one day to use the tm30.

You only need to spend a night in a hotel. Make sure the hotel is decent though, some of the very cheap hotels may not be licensed and won't file a TM30.

1. What visa did you use to enter Thailand? *IF* you entered on a visa on arrival, a visa exempt, or a tourist visa, you can use any immigration office, as long as you have a TM30.

2. IF you entered on a non-tourist visa, you should use the immigration office in the city where you live. Bouncing between immigration offices is not good.
