they really should put together a NATIONAL decision on what all the soft power requirements are rather than so many people upending their lives predicated upon ambiguous announcements. for example, research indicates there are no thai music festivals. why include that? but there are countless scuba schools and scuba and snorkeling boats. all those would benefit greatly by being included in DTV. there are rock climbing courses available in Krabi ( Railay beach) but not included. art schools could spring up, celebrating and showcasing thai / Buddhist art. if they are included. and there really should be and COULD be Thai music festivals, given a little encouragement. just sayin’…
i am moving to pattaya because i want many recreational activities. i hope it is a long list. i even heard music events and medical treatments qualify. sounds well thought out designed to lift Thailand’s economy.
exactly. i would like to study muay thai for short time like 6 months while i build up the 800k for retirement visa. or if it’s viable, keep doing DTV and scuba and thai language , 6 months of each.
i will absolutely take your advice. i will do the tourist and extensions. not sure how many before they get annoyed. then student for 6 months language. by then i will have the savings in the bank. i will be in pattaya / jomtien. should i get the bank account on my own? or use an agent? tia
