TLDR : Answer Summary
A user is seeking recommendations for a lawyer who can assist with FBI checks and expungements related to small convictions, which are hindering their ability to obtain a long-term visa (LTR) in Thailand. Comments highlight that while expungement may occur in the U.S., such details may still be accessible in Thailand, potentially impacting visa application success. Suggestions include visiting Siam-Legal.com for lawyer options and a link to resources for record expungement in the U.S.

You're going to be flooded with GREAT advice and work-arounds from alot of the smart members of this group. However, since you're American you might find this site useful in the meantime, albeit not based in Thailand. Good luck my friend.

You do know your details do not go away in the Thai database. Expunging them might not change their minds in the future, as they base rejection off the type of crime, not simply that it is in your record, but good luck. You can try Siam-Legal.com, but I'm pretty sure you'll need an attorney in the district the case was tried originally to get it expunged.
