TLDR : Answer Summary
The type and duration of culinary school required for the DTV (Digital Nomad Visa) in Thailand depend on the specific criteria set by the Thai embassy you are applying through. Requirements can vary significantly, with some embassies preferring longer courses, while others may accept shorter ones. There is some debate in the community about whether a cooking class alone would suffice for a long-term visa, as additional evidences like proof of ongoing courses or funds may be necessary for approval. Suggestions for culinary courses include both short classes for quick dishes and longer programs for intricate Thai cuisine.

it’s no problem but don’t think you’ll be able to come and go after your class is over I’ve read one post from a guy who has an IO friend and said when you re enter you’ll need a new itinerary and show your 500k in the bank it will not be a 5 year free for all

Depends what you're cooking. For Pad Thai you'll need short course. For masaman curry longer course.

they really should put together a NATIONAL decision on what all the soft power requirements are rather than so many people upending their lives predicated upon ambiguous announcements. for example, research indicates there are no thai music festivals. why include that? but there are countless scuba schools and scuba and snorkeling boats. all those would benefit greatly by being included in DTV. there are rock climbing courses available in Krabi ( Railay beach) but not included. art schools could spring up, celebrating and showcasing thai / Buddhist art. if they are included. and there really should be and COULD be Thai music festivals, given a little encouragement. just sayin’…

They probably mean attending the musicfestival as artist, not attending as spectator.

songkran is a water fight not a music festival. the others didn’t come up before but do now. i checked a few and will look further, but they don’t appeal to me. i do love Songkran, though.

Wonderfruit is a music festival. Not exclusively Thai music, but it is in Thailand.

it’s not listed on youtube or google or chrome. good thing they don’t advertise. don’t want it too crowded.

This is up in the air like the rest of the requirements, depends on if the office had a good week end or not.

That depends on the requirements of the Thai embassy you'll be applying at. Each embassy makes their own requirements so check how long of a class the embassy you'll be using requires.

I’m currently looking on the London Thai embassy website and it doesn’t give specifics regarding the soft power route. All it says is “proof of confirmation to attend the activity or letter of appointment from hospital/medical centre”

London is less lenient than others in giving approval. You can email them to get a specific answer. They are prompt in replying in my experience.
