that’s great for you. How do you know that’s what Viney wants? Also, I’ve found better beaches and I like living in Thailand, not expat-country.

it reminds me of Florida, honestly…a place to go to wait to die. I’m told there’s more to HH than what I saw. I’m hoping that’s true and will visit again without making a firm decision. However, I just don’t understand blankly saying one should choose there while knowing nothing about the individual’s needs.

beaches? For what they are. 555. Bangkok gives easy access to everywhere and has a life of its own.

So, you can either get the marriage visa (which is what seems to be what you've shown above) or the retirement visa. The retirement visa requires more funds transferred but fewer hoops to pass through; the marriage requires more paperwork, interviews, etc., but half the funds.

Yes, the question has been asked before, but you've clearly done some research. If you search the group for "marriage visa" and "Retirement visa", you can learn even more about each option...maybe more than you'll ever want to know :-). I just completed my extension (from the 90-day retirement) and it was easy peasy thanks to the information in this group.

ED visa is his best bet but he then can’t work. If he seriously wants to be with this woman though, learning Thai is a good idea anyway. He can then look for a job and switch visas.

never once did I ask you about their hours. I merely noted that your snarky “advice” to Google was absurd due to Google’s inaccurate information about opening hours or even whether bank branches exist. In my neighborhood, there’s a branch listed that is only an ATM. Another branch is listed as opening at 8:30 am. It opens at 11:00 am. That’s all I was saying. Google’s information is only as reliable as the information it receives from human beings. I’m always amused when people tell others to Google rather than to ask people.

Meanwhile, you presented yourself as knowledgeable on the subject and willing to help. I asked a simple question. No one said you needed to answer. Funny thing about we Americans…we actually ARE willing to help as you may see in my numerous responses to other people’s posts. Perhaps that’s why we expect basic courtesy from others. Meanwhile, I’M sarcastic? Seriously?

btw, you were correct. A deposit WAS needed. They were very nice and even gave me copies of the necessary pages though

I would suggest looking for a local agent ASAP and ask.
