Am I missing something? Why would anyone pay money to open up a bank account. I just went to the local krungsri Bank and opened it up myself in 10 minutes

why would you report someone for this? That seems extremely excessive

I was able to open an account with education visa. My advice is to find a bank that you can utilize for some reason other then opening an account. Go there a few times so they start to recognize you. Then after you do that. Ask if they can help you open an account. I did this at a krungsri location in Bangkok that I know regularly turns people down.

we don't know the full story or situation so no way to know the situation or if the guy is an asshole & maybe the life's lesson will be a positive one.

Not a big deal. Just chalk it up as a loss and hopefully a lesson learned.
