I am glad you had the same experience as me. I am fed up of people on here saying you have to give money. They are stupid if they do. If there paperwork is right, you don't have to pay unless you are stupid enough to fall for it.

On my first Marriage extension in Chiang Mai 3 or 4 immigration officials turned up. However, I certainly did not give them any money for their visit

If you offer, obviously they will accept. Maybe too many people are falling into the trap that a bung is expected.

My later renewals of the marriage extension no visits.

Don't do it. You will never own it. If you get divorced from your Thai wife, you will have a great fight on your hands. I am learning that the hard way.
