TLDR : Answer Summary
The post discusses the process and considerations for hiring a Filipina caregiver for an elderly friend in Thailand. Key points include the necessity of a work permit for foreign caregivers, the challenges of direct hiring from the Philippines due to stricter regulations, and the possibility of finding caregivers already in Thailand. It emphasizes that if the elderly individual has specific preferences, proper documentation and visa processes are crucial for bringing someone over.

Your friends are leaving in Thailand right? If he have someone to take care of him already and if not Thai people , they can get visa following your friends. Or he can copperplate with some Wellness who have services for this.

when his girl come , they have to prove documents that she come for taking care of him, and some documents from his doctor and his embassies that he can’t take care of hisself. Then if document are completed, she can get visa to follow his visa.

Following because how does one hire a caretaker like a personal support worker ?

Can u just pay them cash
Simon **********
Maybe there are agencies in Thailand for Philippine workers to work here?
Sandeep *******
A Philipina nurse would require a work permit to work as a caretaker...unless he has someone specific in mind who is already here.

If the old dog is willing to foot the costs, let him do so. Let him enjoy is final years

It's foolish, but it is his choice.

Hello.. if you bring in a Filipina it would be easy if she is a frequent traveller. If not, i would advise you to find Filipina caregiver who are already here in Thailand. Direct hiring from our country is now monitored and strict.. you might incur expenses but no success..

- i tried to share what was said but for some reason he promised this lady a job and i guess he will go through whatever he needs to do. Personally, i don't know their relationship so i really don't know why he's so committed to her

@Derek **********
whatever their relation the Filipina will need to come here as tourist which requires a lot of documentation like money in ph bank for 3-5 months, hotel accomodation, flight ticket wt return etcetc...

Loads of Filipina nurses are working in Thailand as a nurse coordinator for very low salary. I guess, it's possible to find a person here and already holding a wp. Maybe someone knows the right group to share this post.
Colin ********
There are ways to bring her her without a work permit, there are literally thousands of Filipinos here

@Derek **********
most probably impossible to get a wp for her. A Farang can't hire a Filipina that easy.
Colin ********
@Carsten ***********
can she not just be his live in "girlfriend" rather than "employed".
Carsten ************
@Colin *******
yes, but there's no thing like a gf visa.
