Depressing but good to know. It does entail some extra brain work on their part which is presumably why the straight 800,000 is their "preferred method."

This may be a stupid question but if my wife (in whose house I live) files a TM 30 within 24 hours of returning to Thailand from abroad, is that it till we go abroad again? Do I need to submit a TM 30 when I go to extend my retirement visa between trips?

12 x 60,000 = 720,000 so technically
@Russell *******
you only need another 80,000 in the bank to bring you up to the required 800,000 to stay on the Reirement Visa. Am I right

I think it is only Bangkok Bank that shows foreign transfer codes in the bank book. I am with Kasikorn (who don't) and have been advised to talk to the credit advisor in my branch about this. I am taking documentation to show them and will ask them to state on the letter to immigration that they are indeed foreign transfers. I will also ask them to photocopy the bank book for the last 12 months and stamp it as authentic. Sheesh!

How many days after the official 90 day expiry are you allowed before renew? Mine comes in the middle of the coronation.

Don't forget to photocopy the pages from the bankbook too and get them stamped (unless that's what you meant).

Sorry, what I meant was do I need to mention my foreign travel at the outset of the visa extension process or just wait until there's a glitch?
