John is concerned about the implications of having his visa extension application under consideration in Thailand. He shares that although his documents were in order, he did not receive a stamp on his passport due to the application being reviewed. Other community members advise that being under consideration is not uncommon and does not automatically lead to trouble, such as overstaying. They mention the possibility of being contacted by immigration or receiving various outcomes, including an extension or a denial. Concerns regarding impacts on pre-booked travel plans if issues arise during the visa extension process were also expressed.

My big worry here is if I get any such reaction to my visa extension in July will it impact on my ability to go abroad on my pre-booked holiday in August?
unless there looks like it's not gonna be done in time I wouldn't mention the traveling.. As long as you go as early as you can for your extension you should be fine

Sorry, what I meant was do I need to mention my foreign travel at the outset of the visa extension process or just wait until there's a glitch?
I will need to get a re-entry permit at the same time. Would I need to take proof of leaving the country (eg airline tickets?). Do I need to tell them I am leaving the country at the outset or only if it looks like things are not going smoothly?

make sure when you do apply for the yearly extension that you tell them you are leaving the country on xxx date too..

you can apply for a yearly extension of stay at most immigration offices 30 days before your current one expires (some allow you to do it 45 days before) so go and check how early you can apply.. That way you're not cutting it close IF the 30 day under consideration stamp runs over some.

You are stamped under consideration, if Immigration needs more time, you will not get a new date stamp. This happens more often than you think and you will not get into trouble or in overstay. Two options, immigration will call you and OR you get the remaining 11 months stamped in your passport OR application denied and you get 7 days to leave the country.
i have almost the same thing happen to me everything was in order but they would not stamp my passport and i am also over me visa which was finnished at 12 midnight saterday and i was told the same thing not to worry but i am very concerned if i get nailed with over stay or if i have to leave the country
