Hi. I entered Thailand on a single entry O visa on 26 Aug 2019 which gave me permission to stay till 23 Nov 2019. Yesterday my Thai wife and I applied for a marriage visa and I am "under consideration". My passport is stamped to return to the immigration office on 28 Nov. Presumably this supersedes the 23 Nov limit and I don't need to do anything about the 23 Nov limit?
While I am on the subject, I am told that each year when applying for extension of permission to stay on a marriage visa there is a one month hiatus while your application is being processed during which time you are not allowed to leave the country. Is this right, and if so what could I do if there was a death in my family in the UK and I needed to go back for a funeral? Thanks.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The applicant is currently on a single entry O visa and has applied for a marriage visa, which is 'under consideration'. This status supersedes the original visa expiration date, allowing them to remain in Thailand until further notice. Additionally, it is clarified that the applicant can leave Thailand during the 'under consideration' period but must obtain a re-entry permit and return before their next immigration appointment. There's also a note about potential home visits by immigration officers during the application process.

Also be aware that the immigration office may send an officer to visit you and your wife at your house and you are both required to be there and possibly they may want to interview one or more of your neighbors
You CAN leave the country during the 30 day under consideration period. BUT you would need to buy a re-entry permit (which would be valid only for the under consideration period) AND you would need to be back in the country by the date you need to show up at the immigration office
As soon as you applied for a yearly extension and got the "under consideration stamp" that is the stamp you're allowed to be in thailand on not your previous entry stamp.
