Has anyone in here who uses the monthly foreign deposits for your retirement or marriage visa had a problem getting the paperwork from Kasikorn Bank showing foreign transfer through WISE. I have two transactions through my former bank which is Bangkok Bank that bank to bank transfer.

The WISE transactions show Kasikorn as the partner bank. Went to Kasikorn with the paperwork and my Thai wife. We spent about 10 minutes explaining everything and they said you need to go to Bangkok Bank. Went there and after another 5 or 10 minutes of telling them Bangkok Bank says you need to ask Kasikorn. Needless to say neither one knew anything about it.

Applied for the non-immigration O 90 day retirement visa on December 4th. Granted today, 23rd December. London.

Go into Thailand on 25th January so my next challenge is to get the retirement extension for a year.

Just curious. Has anyone here renewed their retirement visa at Jomtien immigration in September or October under these circumstances.

1. Do it yourself ie no agent

2. Use the 65 thousand baht per month option

3. Providing statements, letter, etc from Bangkok bank

I ask because many folks experienced the Wise transfer/Bangkok bank snafu in September. Thanks

Continuing to find ways to show foreign transfers to immigration…. A Swift payment from First Direct in UK directly to Bangkok Bank shows up as follows in Bangkok Bank. Does immigration recognise this as a overseas foreign transaction.

I’m due to renew my extension next month at Chaeng Wattana BKK. This will be my first renewal using the 65k Baht per month transfer to my Bangkok Bank account. I understand that I need to provide a letter from my bank confirming 12 monthly international transfers of 65k Baht into my account. Can anyone tell me if the local bank branch where I have my account will be aware of this requirement, and be able to issue this letter without too much hassle. Also, has anyone got any experience of the time scale for the bank to issue this confirmation letter.

I want to warn others in the group that even if you are doing an international transfer from your foreign bank using a SWIFT code (as advised by admins in this group in preference to Transferwise), to your Thai bank account, to meet immigration requirements for 65K a month deposited in your Thai bank account, that your international transfer may still not appear as an International transfer in your bank book. I transfered money last week and the code in my Bangkok Bank book is BTN which apparently refers to a domestic transfer even though I transferred it directly from my Australian Bank to my Bangkok Bank account using a SWIFT code. Apparently it was sent from my bank account to Citibank in Bangkok and then to Bangkok Bank. The staff member at Bangkok Bank was insistent that this will not meet immigration's requirements
