Does renewing a visa extension reset the 90-day reporting requirement in Thailand?

I was just going to apply for my next 90 days using the recent online app when my wife told me it wasn't due yet because it was reset after my recent visa extension, just as it is reset when you come back into Thailand from abroad. Is that true?

TLDR : Answer Summary
There is confusion regarding whether the 90-day reporting requirement resets after obtaining a visa extension in Thailand. Generally, renewing a visa extension does not automatically reset the 90-day reporting date unless the immigration officer provides a new 90-day report receipt with a new due date. To clarify, if you received a new report slip with a changed date after your extension, then your reporting date has been reset. Otherwise, you should adhere to the original due date on your report receipt.

Unless the IO provided you with a new 90day report slip to carry with your passport….( as some immigration offices have been reported to do) you will need to follow your origins timeline for filing your 90 day report. Check the due date on your slip……

Renewing an extension does not reset the date…

Here's an easy way to tell if your 90 day report reset when you got a new extension

Ask yourself;

When I got my new extension did the immigration officer take my current 90 day report receipt and give me a new one with a new due date on it ?

IF the answer is yes and they did give you a new paper with a new date on it, they did reset your 90 days when you got your extension (y)

IF the answer is no and they didn't give you a new paper they did not reset your 90 day report date and you report when the due date says to on the receipt you got

It is not true for most immigration offices. Check and see if they put any papers in your passport

. Good thinking to check the paper in my returned passport. It is still the old notification date so I will go with that.
