Exactly.

You don't have a bank account. So you can not change to Non-O inside of Thailand.

If you had a bank account, with the seasoned money, there would be no problem changing visa inside of Thailand.

You need a bank account.

That is your problem.

You can't get a bank account without a Non-O.

And you can't convert to a Non-O in country without a bank account and the seasoned money.

So in your case, you will need to go out of country to get your Non-O, because you do not fill the requirements to do the conversion in country.

And when you get back in with the Non-O, you'll have to get the bank anyway because the extension of stay requires it.

I changed from Visa Exemption to Non-O last year.

Should be possible with Tourist Visa as long as you have enough time left and you actually fill the requirements of the visa you are wanting to change to.

I asked my branch in Cha Am, if just regular Non-O was ok.

They said that was fine, no problem.

But she might have meant for marriage as well. You never know.

She did seem surprised when I told her people are having problems with regular Non-O though.

@Tony ****
If you already have a Non-O you should be able to go get a bank account on your own without the help of an agent.

You seem to be confused as to what visa you have. There is no Non-O with a validity of 180 days.

You likely have a multi entry tourist visa.

Figure that part out first.

With the multi entry tourist visa, you should be able to enter just before it expires in December, and be stamped in for 60 days, which you can extend with another 30 days.

Bringing your stay to around March.

You are a tax resident when you have been in Thailand 180 days during a calendar year. Those days do not need to be consecutively.

@Andrew *******
Sure.

But that was not a part of my statement.

I am asking if the person is going to be working remotely.

If they are, the ED is simply not an option.
Marianne ********
Are you going to be doing any kind of remote work?

DTV is your only legal option.
Marianne ********
Yes, that is place.

Bring your receipt for the TM30.

And be prepared to pay a fine if you are late.

Here's a link to a map.
