The Pattaya branch could not close my CM account when I moved there, but they can apparently freeze a CM account

What’s the question?

Agents will hold your passport during the process

Most of them are honest

Worst case, you lost your passport and you get a new one from your embassy, not the end of the world

Just pick a good agent

You worry too much

You don’t need a plan.

Just get a prepaid number and top it up with 10 baht every month.

Get a room in the province where your account is

Get a copy of the tm30

Bring that to immigration for a COR

Keeping the 800k in a separate account makes it much easier at Immigration when applying for an extension of stay, less transactions to view

the benefit of a joint account is that it is immediately available when one of you dies

either 800k in an individual account or 1.6m in a joint account

You can get a retirement visa if you have 65k/month

So that’s obviously enough to live here

Some people spend half of that, some spend double that amount

It’s all about your lifestyle
