Since I'm here on DTV visa, I'd like to get a driver's license. I have a driver's license from my home with car and motorcycle priviliges already, I also have my international drivers permit. Is there some way to easily get a Thai driver's license? I saw that you have to get a blood test but I hate needles so I'd rather not go throught medical exam if there's some way around it

TLDR : Answer Summary
To obtain a Thai driver's license while on a DTV visa, you'll need to provide your passport, your home country's driver's license, a medical certificate, and a certificate of residency. You do not need to undergo a blood test; instead, the medical certificate can typically be acquired at a local clinic where they may just check your blood pressure and ask some health questions, often without a thorough medical exam. After obtaining the medical certificate, you must complete an online test and then visit a local driving license office for practical tests to finalize the process.

i saw this on DLT website and then looked up 5 diseases form per Section 3, and that's where I found a blood test was needed. It seems from everyone commenting that the blood test isn't necessary thankfully

if you are in Pattaya, visit an agent. They take your hands and lead you through the process really easy . . for something like 5000 to 7000 Baht

then why do you tell us an inflated overpriced service? The agent I know in Pattaya will get you BOTH Thai drivers licenses (car & motorcycle) on any visa (even on a visa-exempt!) for 7000 THB, and a blood test is not required, I have no idea who told the OP

. . . sure, he could do it by himself . . . . I do it by myself since 24 years, but this is advice for a complete newbie, he'd be better off with the help of an agent, it's only 5000-7000 Baht

If they want to throw 5000 baht away . It’s not difficult to get a resident certificate from immigration and a health certificate from any hospital or clinic. That’s literally all you need plus a passport and photos.

They also do a colour blindness test.

I applied on Koh Samui, and was told my passport stamp must have at least 15 days on it, and also the residency and medical cert are only valid for 30 days. (Contrary to what the DLT app states).

you are lucky they are not asking for long term visa....does it make sense to issue a licence to someone with 15days stamp?

Umm, where is it that you saw that you need to get a blood test for a drivers license? You actually think they give a blood test to everyone getting a drivers license?

One of the requirements is a medical certificate. Costs like 100-200 baht and normally filled out by the front desk secretary at a clinic and not even a doctor or nurse.

No, you cannot skip it. It's a requirement.
