you scan and upload everything they require electronicly first and pay. Once you receive the email to say the application has been succesful, you then arrange to either go to the embassy or send all the hard copys that you uploaded originally plus £10 for return postage by cash or postal order (No cheques or card payments) to the Embassy

Notice now if you apply for a multiple entry visa and your only eligible for a single entry visa for whatever reason, there is NO refund on the difference in cost. Neither is there a refund at all for failed applications. Best to check, double check then check again before you submit the application and hit the pay button. Payment is due on SUBMISSION of the application NOT once the application has been agreed.

The idea is you hold your money in Thailand in foreign currency and exchange it when the rate is preferable to you.

Be aware though, the accounts are not free to operate. There are yearly charges plus commissions to pay on deposits and withdrawals.

Also be aware, that as previously, 'O' visa applications can only be for single entry. Multiple entry visas such as an O-A, still need to be applied for online via London

Here is a link to the Hull consulate that is freshly updated. Although I've not been through all of it, I'm not seeing any postal option for consulates and you actually need to go there.

Foreign currency accounts are ok as long as you hold, at this time, a lot more than your going to need for your extension. The Baht is strengthening daily and if your tight too the k your going to find yourself in trouble when they do the conversation.
