When I lived in Peru , we always went to the Greece Embassy for our shengen visas... they approved everyone (with the correct information and paper).. my theory was.. The Greeks are broke.. they'll let anyone in to spend money !!.. we got 6 and only went to Greece for a visit on the last one... Yes , I know Peru is not Thailand .. just making a interesting point !!!
I recommend going at 11:00am ... big big queues start at 07:30... last time I was there , no queues at 11:00am.... but it does mean you have a high ticket number .. your ticket number will come up later in the afternoon on the following day for visa collection ... but this ok too ... you don't go a queue again at 13:00 like everyone else ... go have a nice lunch ... roll up at 15:00 .. less people waiting - more free seats
I would say best time to go is 11;00am .. no queues then ..you will queue for 2 hours if you go early ... only downside with that... you will have a high ticket number and your passport won't be ready for collection until after 3pm ..which is no good if you have a flight to catch !!
- for your time and efforts helping me with this question - my passport will take an estimated 6 weeks (I'm not most people !!)... but its ok- I can apply for emergency travel documents for any trips I need to do out of Thailand .. its all quite legal ... its just £100 a time and has to be done in Bangkok... I was only trying to cheat the system to save a little time and dosh
Read the post - I may need to pop to Singapore while my new passport application is being processed in the UK - I am advised it can be back in Bangkok - Trendy Towers or where-ever in 4 weeks - I may need to go to Singapore during those 4 weeks
I didn't say after I have received new passport , I mean before you get your new passport - while you are waiting for new - when you still have the old one that is about to be replaced and they haven't yet cut the corner off
