Pattaya - Vientiane ( Laos) Thai Embassy , same day
You can leave Pattaya and get you visa application in on the same day ..I've just done it .. you still have to stay overnight in Vientiane to collect you passport & visa the following day

I was number 513 at embassy - Passport was ready at 3:15 , so I didn't go an d queue like everyone else at 13:30 - I went at 15:00 - no queues

if you get delayed go the embassy the next day.. the alternative is go the day before anyway... its worked for me twice ... ..I don't know why I bother sharing ...
Arrival at 11:10. As far as I know application closes at 12:00. So Cutting it mighty fine if anything went wrong or any delays. I would not be recommending people to rely on your strategy.
Accept a taxi from one of the touts before Laos immigration .. they will get you through quicker
Book a hotel on the Riverside so that your Thai Sim will still work
If you rent a scooter ( a good idea to kill time and the taxis back and forth to consulate ) - police will fine you if you have your lights on in day time
I found some out of town girly bars , if that’s your thing

@home nightclub is good for hook up after midnight
