Good afternoon everyone and thank you in anticipation of a positive response. I am enquiring to see if anyone has been successful in getting a Schengen Visa for their Thai GF or wife to enter Spain, I have had two refusals and really can't understand why. Funds, insurance, accommodation, return flights etc were all in accordance with the visa requirements and just about the only information we hadn't supplied was our shoe sizes. Can someone please help with this.

Just by reading these comments I understand that showing 3 things at a Thai Consulate is a real pain in the ... Compared to 50 pages of documentation it is a very hard and difficult to stay in Thailand. I wish Steve good luck. I don't have any other recommendations than the ones already mentioned.

I realize this isn't a thai visa related topic and I have no problem letting it run

BUT

don't recommend ANY agents that help people get a Schengen Visas because they also help people get thai visas to stay here and we have a no agent recommendation policy.

Thanx. (y)

You don't need an agent. You already know how to make the application. All you need is a better country to apply to, as in, not Spain :)

When I lived in Peru , we always went to the Greece Embassy for our shengen visas... they approved everyone (with the correct information and paper).. my theory was.. The Greeks are broke.. they'll let anyone in to spend money !!.. we got 6 and only went to Greece for a visit on the last one... Yes , I know Peru is not Thailand .. just making a interesting point !!!

You don't need to pass any kind of language tests to get a tourist visa to visit anywhere. If you did, no one would go on holiday anywhere!

So, even though I'm a citizen of Schengen country 'A', I'm not required to apply with my own embassy, but can just pick any of the other member states? How about the language skills; would my partner be asked to have a Greek language test, when applying with the Greeks?

I live in Spain and have tried over the years for visas for auPairs that are from places like Philippines and Sri Lanka, also Russia. It’s near on impossible! I eventually got a Russian through but only because she didn’t apply for a visa at all and then winged it at the airport which I don’t recommend. She was kept there for a very long time and really put through the works. I have even tried lawyers here to help me and they all tell me the same thing, impossible. I would suggest applying for a different cou try and then travelling into Spain on it. Good luck

Sounds like you have tried everything. Did you show travel insurance out of interest? I would look for an agent where you only pay if your application is successful

Thanks for all the comments so far, does anyone know of a visa agent who specialises in visas to Spain

I have seen on other Facebook groups that it's virtually impossible to get Schengen for Spain, I'm hoping someone has been luckier and can share their experience

Too much information is the best way to go. Including previous travel together, bus tickets, train tickets, even receipts in restaurants... They want to see that you have genuinely been together. So lots of photo's. Also give a detailed itinerary of your planned trip. Letters from your family also inviting her helps a lot. Include a written statement from her saying that she understands the visa rules and regulations. A letter from her employer helps as well. Anything else you can think of add it in also. Best of luck next time...

In answer to you, not enough supporting information. This was after being advised by the VFS Global visa as to what information was required

Samuel Fila , I don't think they actually took the time to go through the applications, there was all the evidence in the world that we were intending to return to Thailand

They did not give you a reason for the refusal?
