TLDR : Answer Summary
When submitting a visa at the Thai consulate in Vientiane, Laos, it's best to go in the morning, ideally between 8:30 AM and 11:30 AM. Arriving 15-20 minutes before opening can help minimize waiting time. However, avoid going on Mondays or Fridays to reduce the likelihood of long queues. If you opt to go around 11:00 AM, expect a wait but be aware that your passport may not be ready for collection until after 3 PM.

I would say best time to go is 11;00am .. no queues then ..you will queue for 2 hours if you go early ... only downside with that... you will have a high ticket number and your passport won't be ready for collection until after 3pm ..which is no good if you have a flight to catch !!

Don't worry. You will make it. I took the Nok Air flight and landed at 7am, so one hour earlier. I arrived at the consulate at 9am. You will be fine.

It sounds like you waited to long to look for a ticket to go there :/ Friends just booked next month after Songkran to go with Nok Air and it was 655baht one way.

nok air and lion air flight are full or too expensive for 5am. I chose Thai Smile air as it's the best earliest

You can make it you just can't screw around about it and think you have all the time in the world.

Where were you flying to Udon from? Nok Air has a flight that leaves bangkok at 5:55am..

, it will be close but if you don't screw around you can get to the Nong Khai border, cross into Lao and then get to the Thai consulate before they stop taking applications at 11:30.
