I don't think that they are interperating the rules differently. I think they are evaluateing what is in front of them differently. By that I mean how is that person presenting? What is the previous entry and exit history? A whole host of things to evaluate if the reason they are wanting to enter, is genuine.

This isn't just true of Thailand it is true of most if not all countries.

They tell you that helping you is their priority, it isn't, your money is.

never the case in Pattaya you say. I know personality of one person who after leaving their passport at one of the more prominent agents in Pattaya found that their extension had been issued in Nakhon Si Thammarat. That happened this month, August 2023. The truth is most people don't even check where their visa or extension were issued.

You have the ability to extend your current stay before 27th August. Purchase a re-entry permit and as long as you are back in Thailand before 27th August 2024 you will be fine to continue on your current visa.

you don’t need an agent, you are 90% there. If you have a friend who can speak Thai and as Garrett says a 1,000 Baht note to oil the wheels you will be married in a couple of days.
