that is exactly what happened when they upped the financial requirements to 800k. They grandfathered all existing holders. It was only new applicants who needed to meet the new requirements.

Nothing is guaranteed obviously. I suspect the new Government will have other priorities once they get into office.

Remember non of the political parties had reform of immigration in their manifestos.

whatever company you use will have to comply with the banking regulations. If a 10 day delay in a transfer has a major impact on your finances then maybe you should look for some contingencies.

I have been using Wise to transfer money for over 7 years now and never had a transfer take over a couple of days. I assume that each one will take 10 days so it is never a problem.

For fees the best is the TTB All Free account. Free ATM withdrawals at all ATMs in Thailand.

The best, to deal with for your visa is Bangkok Bank. My experience is that the majority of staff (if not all) speak English fluently to deal with any issues you may have.

Krung Sri and Kasikorn have the best banking apps.

That efficiency allows his to spend hours every day promoting visa agents on Facebook.

Maybe if he got out of his mummy’s basement and interacted with real people he would learn the social skills required to be able to open a bank account or maintain a long term visa on his own.

Steve Smythe your experiences of Thai Immigration and opening bank accounts are very similar to mine.

Best advice I got was be polite, smile and dress respectfuly to fit the environment you are in. I have accounts with 4 different Thai banks and have always received great customer service at immigration.

meeting the financial requirements is a condition of the retirementirement extension. This is before and after your application. If you no longer meet the financial requirements , then you will technically be on overstay.

I personally have never heard of this happeneing before but that doesn't mean that it hasn't.

Might be worth keeping in mind.

I think you will find Jomtien is the only office in the country that require seasoned funds (2 months) to apply for a Non Immigrant O in country.
