If you leave the country and come back (ie visit Laos) the 90 day clock resets and you can report as usual without a fine, in my experience.

Go to another 4 banks and you will get 3 more wild recommendations and one will allow you to open an account.

It’s not your country.

You have no rights to someone else’s property.

Here is an idea: why don’t you ask your local immigration office?

@Greg ********
it’s not a problem at all.

Arrive on a 90 day Non-O visa from your local Thai embassy.

Make sure to purchase a multiple reentry stamp to preserve your visa status.

Open a bank account when you arrive in Thailand and deposit the required funds.

Exit an reenter Thailand as often as you desire.

With at least 45 days remaining on your visa (differs by province) apply for your annual visa extension.

You can even continue to travel.

bullish!t.

Americans can enter Thailand without any visa for 60+30 days.

A 90 day Non-O online Thai visa is a good choice if you plan to stay. You can renew it one year at a time.

The Non-OA is a poor choice of visa in my opinion.

Not only do you need a doctor exam and criminal records check, but next year you can only renew your mandatory health insurance with one of 14-16 approved Thai health insurance companies.

Unlike America, the insurance companies don’t have to accept you. Any major preexisting health condition, or simply being overweight can result in a denial of coverage and loss of visa.

With a Non-O visa, you can secure health insurance from any health company, anywhere in the world… or choose to self ensure, or no insurance at all.

The Non-O visa (which in my opinion is preferable for most, if not everyone) does not require health insurance.

However, most would recommend you purchase travel insurance, which is inexpensive and available for up to a one year term, from major companies such as WorldNomads or Allianz.
