With ref to the proof of income. What country are you from ? My understanding is that you needed a stamp from your embassy and that the UK embassy ( for example) had stopped verifying that ? Or this is based on you earning inside Thailand ?
I got one today when leaving and didn't even realise I was able to, as I was leaving on an expired multi entry NON IMM O visa. The immigration lady pointed it out to me. Good friendly service.
long way to go :(, I thought they were one of the more lenient/friendly consulates. The inconsistency part is frustrating, as other places only look the balance statement, so it seems. So is it in writing that it has to be in the bank for that period of time ?
I just returned from the same trip. Marriage cert of your wife is the only original document you will need from her side. My wife did not come with me, however they did ask where she was. I explained that she was home looking after the kids (Phuket). In addition to the documents listed on the site, I took a short note from wife with a copy of her ID stating she was unable to take the trip with me due to family duties.
I would say over half the people were poorly prepared. Take signed copies of everything. Check the list of requirements. Sounds like the OP had a good day, my que time was around 4 hours.
