I don't drink Chang or Leo, nor do I sit on a bar stool. I will not reveal my sources. I will edit my comment above and remove " I know for sure " and stick to my later comment of "strong chance of where this heading".

Let's revisit this in 18 months, and once the dust settles, I'll bet a box of Leo thst the TIN and long term visa will be linked.

Not right now, but I hear it in good faith that the long term goal will be to have all long term visa renewals linked to your tax status/return, if exceeding the 180 days. I.e present your tax information when renewing. Not trying to scaremonger, just highlighting the strong chance of where this is heading (eventually).

@Greg *******
ok thanks. *Highly likely* it's going to be linked to tax at a later point.

With ref to the proof of income. What country are you from ? My understanding is that you needed a stamp from your embassy and that the UK embassy ( for example) had stopped verifying that ? Or this is based on you earning inside Thailand ?

I got one today when leaving and didn't even realise I was able to, as I was leaving on an expired multi entry NON IMM O visa. The immigration lady pointed it out to me. Good friendly service.
