Why is the NON IMM ‘O’ visa application now requiring three months of bank statements?

Friend just recently applied for his NON IMM ‘O’ multi entry based on marriage and they requested 3 months bank statements. First I have heard of that for about 8 years.

If its the Singapore Thai embassy, it says on their website 400,000 baht at least, on a bank statement.

yes and that’s how it has been the last 7 times I have got mine there, however my friend just did his and it said that after review they wanted 3 months statements. The single statement he did show them had 80,000 dollars in BTW.

for the Non O multi entry based on being over 50 years of age, working as volunteer, married to a Thai National, father of a half Thai Child, father of a foreign child going to school in Thailand, married to a foreigner with long stay inside Thailand, just to name a few options with different requirements.
