Me the same, Samui, but up in Plai Laem. Sorry to say I very much enjoy Samui without the typical Samui tourist (drunk, loud, obnoxious, disrespectful), although I feel for the local businesses and people. And the sight of abandoned shops, houses and resorts is not pretty, many being pulled down around here, I hope them to be replaced by similar buildings and materials, not just concrete, steel and glass boxes. Not sure that many friends and regulars will be able to return this coming winter. I think just weekends away on Koh Phan Ngan perhaps, and also a great time to visit other parts of Thailand.
I once had to buy a flight ticket and book some accommodation online while I was sent away from the immigration desk in Goa. Not sure if the Thai immigration would be as forgiving right now. It would be harsh to send you back on that. But for the sake of it you should just buy the cheapest ticket out of Thailand from the cheapest international airport, although I believe bus tickets also qualify. But again, I find that a one way ticket is 75% of the cost of the return flight, so chose a return flight flight with a low fee to change the date. 👍
Yeah, you’re right, who would want to live there. God only knows why it was only the second borough in the UK to have an AVERAGE house price in excess of £1,000,000 outside of Kensington & Chelsea. They used to call it ‘stockbroker belt’ and more recently ‘footballer belt’. You must’ve visited Streatham or Tooting 😂. You’re a keen cyclist, it’s the location for the Prudential Ride London, and the Surrey 100. It goes right past my riverside apartment and then the family estate. Your welcome to visit anytime 👍
