You have two clear choices for visa non immigrant based on marriage or based on retirement. Marriage less money in the bank , more paperwork, retirement more money less paperwork. I have used the public health system not free for foreigners but cheap and have had good experiences. You should have private insurance incase it goes horribly wrong

You can use a foreign licence for 3 months accompanied with an international driver's permit. After such you should have a Thai licence

I've done 3 extensions and they don't seem fussed but one must always be prepared

I have always used a fixed account never been asked to show funds after the extension is approved
