The cannabis situation in Thailand has evolved significantly, with current laws permitting the cultivation of cannabis primarily for Thai nationals and limited medical use. While public consumption remains illegal, enforcement is lax, leading to widespread use and a noticeable presence of cannabis culture, especially in tourist areas. Prices vary, often being higher in expat-heavy neighborhoods, but quality can differ greatly. Awaiting further regulations, the market is characterized by a mix of local and imported products.

If you pretend you're blind when you're walking into the shopping center the guy at the Stoner Street Kiosk might not pressure you into buying some ... I believe there's still some red light intersections where you can still get a 'kilo' of pineapple. ;-)

Expensive when you buy from the shops in foreigners area.
20-50% cheaper when you buy from the local or Facebook pages especially directly from growers.

I am but I dont want tobreath8n anybodies cannabis smoke , why should I have too ????,
There should be an island somewhere that people who wine about it can go and avoid the smoke. Maybe have a boat that brings the people to and from it so they have a place to all wine and cry together. Problem solved
Well it’s legal , it’s everywhere in Phuket I mean ,It give me good Deep sleeping night , but took only once every night , for my friend. It made her laughing loudly and talk too much

In tourist areas there's a pot shop about every 4-5 store fronts. Seems all the failed shops from Covid now feature dope. Only smelled it a few times on the wind though. Residents can have 6 plants I hear, for medicinal uses of course. I didn't participate beyond taking a few snapshots of the signage so frequent on the strip.
Street smell very bad weed smoke , ablnd if youvrent condo you will be disturbed by farang neighboor s

I thought it was great when they legalised it (even though I don't smoke). Then the shops started opening everywhere, and I remembered how cringe stoner culture it!
The law says it is legal to grow for Thai nationals. The use of cannabis is by law restricted to medical use and food. Laws about creative use are expected in the near future. Right now the situation is a limbo for creative use. No one seems to care much. Until 1978 cannabis was completely legal in Thailand.
is completely decriminalised, so anyone can grow it; if you can grow lettuce legally then you can grow cannabis too. (Can't make it a business/work obviously without all that paperwork, but if it don't have a problem growing a cabbage then you won't have a problem with cannabis.
, legal to grow it for Thail nationals but illegal to make any kind of "extract" from it without permission, which is currently only available for medical use or for food with very low THC levels. New regulations are in the pipeline without a schedule.
, lawyers may discuss forever what an "extract" is? Somehow you process it for smoking. Bottom line is that the law only allows you to grow it - so far. We are awaiting the laws on recreational use. However, it is being sold and smoked in large scale as we speak - legal or not...
It's not really difficult or require lawyers. And extract is well defined in chemistry/pharmacy, it's when you concentrate an active ingredient in a solution, typically oil or alcohol.
well yes, but not really of any consumer's concern, for example, making cannabis brownies requires cannabis butter.. Which is an extract. It matters for companies selling these things; a brownie is not an extract.. However an extract is required to make them. ;)
, well, I do not believe it helps much what you think. The newspapers quote lawyers for saying it is illegal to sell or smoke cannabis with high THC levels. What the police do or do not do about it is another story. The bottom line is that the regulatory legislation is pending at the parliament.

Illegal to smoke in public but even that is mostly disregarded. It's basically a free for all.
