@Gre****
supposedly 3 months. But no one asked me when we did the first 90 day check in.

David correct and that was a massive pain in the ass at the local district office in the village. But in the end we got it done and have the Thai certification of the marriage (not sure of the proper name).

David it was on their checklist of items required. We went and got a list while I was on the 90 day from Laos and we were preparing all the extension paperwork.

I never had a freedom of affirmation to marry. I did nothing with the embassy here. Maybe because we were married in America ?

But yeah I agree with you. Funny thing is I am twice divorced. One in America and one in Japan and that one is in Japanese and translated to English. I’m sure they have no idea what they were.

David Broadfoot I respectfully disagree based on my personal experience. I had to show my original divorce decree for my first extension of stay last year and for the follow up this year. First one in Ubon and this year in BKK.

David Broadfoot don’t forget divorce decrees if it’s not the first marriage. 👍🏻

Literally just did this a couple of weeks ago. As usual Tod is correct. In BKK they gave the under consideration stamp and said when you come back to get the extension make sure you update the bank book again the day prior. Which was different than Ubon...but whatever.

Exactly as Garrett said above. For me even easier as I was in Ubon and they didn’t even make me take any test. I provided all the documents he started. Paid 310 baht (I think) and left with motorbike and car license. Took about 20 minutes.

I had mine from America that was good for a year. I drove on it until it expired and then ordered another. I was stopped several times driving my truck and no one blinked an eye about the issue or expiry date.

The reason this happened is all the Covid closures around the driver’s license office. But bottom lines is as long as the boys in brown for their 500 baht every time I was speeding I could have handed them a color drawing of a drivers license and they probably would not have cared. 😁

@T**
thanks for the insight. I didn’t realize Ubon was so notorious for being a shit show. It was infuriating but I couldn’t feel too bad because it’s not like they are trying to extort me. They never took a baht. Matter of fact when we left yesterday they noted we had to have the interview by COB Monday or I would need new bank letters again (3rd time). Just all in all a weird situation. But thanks for the good words and Intel on why it most likely happened.

@T**
thanks Tod. We just got a call from CW and the nod that our paperwork was indeed accepted and we have an interview at CW 0830 Monday. Then we can drop the passport and start the official process. So silly. But again, all our shit is in order and just had to play the game.
