I’m on a one year contract with about 6 months left, we’ll be done somewhere around the end of the year or early Jan.

When it’s done I have to turn in my work permit. What is required to do that? The Thai “sponsor company” I’m working for had never had any foreign employees before me and it’s been a real shit show so far.

If it matters I’m on a Non O extension of stay based on marriage to a Thai.

I have done it on the airplane. I let the flight attendant know as I boarded I would be interested in an upgrade if seats are available. There were. I did.

I have also done it at check in.

It’s very possible.

I did it. I never went anywhere near an Embassy. My Florida drivers license, my international license, the residency certificate from immigration, copies of passport and visa, and the medical clearance was all I needed. (That I remember). But for sure I did not go anywhere near the embassy.

there are people here that have completed decades of extension of stays, so yes it can be done many times. You can leave any time you like. You get a re-entry permit at the airport before you depart. Or, you simply get a multiple entry extension.

I will tell you this...when we did the fiancé visa for my wife the day she did the interview at the embassy 100% of the ladies that were trying to get tourist visas (that she saw) were denied. A couple doing fiancé visas were denied too.

We applied for hers in May and in August it was done. This was 2014-2015 though so it’s obviously different now.

exactly what Tod says. He knows more than most. The only time she didn’t have to be there was when I picked it up. I did that alone.

I have heard with Wise it’s instant. I have not had that experience. I sent it this time yesterday and it deposited about 2pm today. Less than 24 hours from US to BKK bank.

I can only give you my experience (in Ubon). So who knows what another office will do but this is how it went for me.

My 90 day Non O was to expire on 15 March 2020.

On 13 March I applied for my 12 month extension. (Had to wait for the funds to be seasoned).

They put an “under consideration” stamp extension in my passport taking me to 14 April 2020.

When I went and got my actual one year extension the expiration date was 15 March 2021.

My kids mailed me a box this month. Took 17 days from Vegas.
