TLDR : Answer Summary
Travelers flying from the USA to Thailand can transit through Tokyo, specifically Narita Airport (NRT), without significant issues as long as they remain within the transit area and do not exit the airport. Multiple respondents shared positive experiences transiting NRT during recent travel, indicating that the transit process is managed with safety protocols, including COVID checks. It's suggested to verify current travel regulations and requirements with airlines or relevant travel advisory sources before flying.

Yes I just did it through HND airport. Not a big deal at all doing the transit.

I transited through there (NRT) mid November. As long as you don't have to collect bags, you are good. When we landed, they herded us to an empty terminal for the Covid document checks, then bussed us to our departure terminal.

Just checked yesterday for my flight (MCO-DFW-NRT-BKK) through NRT on the 26th of Dec. and American Airlines said through flights are okay.

When I transfer to NRT, they isolated us in an empty terminal during the whole six-hour layover. No vendors, just vending machines. Some of the furniture was shrinkwrap to keep us from using it. Then airport rustlers moved us to the departure terminal. I saw some strays, but the guards quickly rounded them. That was in August.

I had a layover there on the way here it should be fine... if not then the airline is responsible for re routing you.
the plane from Tokyo to Bangkok will most likely be crowded though (mine was completely full) so be prepared for that
I flew from the US (24+ hours in the air) and the only flight I took that wasn’t filled to the brim was my last leg from Phuket to Bangkok. I think people should expect packed international flights rn IMO

I just did after they "locked down" so Transit should still be good. Check out sherpa anyways....

Hope soo I connect in NRT from Bangkok to the US at the end of December. NRT was pretty controlled when I came to bkk in November. They keep the flight together and kind of control you like cattle from one section to the other .
No Starbucks break that’s for sure !

My colleague flies soon. He called JAL and they said transit is no problem. As long as you’re leaving the same day and not exiting the airport.

As for now transiting in nrt is ok.

Hm... didn't even know that or any country could potentially be an issue.
