I have done it on the airplane. I let the flight attendant know as I boarded I would be interested in an upgrade if seats are available. There were. I did.
I did it. I never went anywhere near an Embassy. My Florida drivers license, my international license, the residency certificate from immigration, copies of passport and visa, and the medical clearance was all I needed. (That I remember). But for sure I did not go anywhere near the embassy.
there are people here that have completed decades of extension of stays, so yes it can be done many times. You can leave any time you like. You get a re-entry permit at the airport before you depart. Or, you simply get a multiple entry extension.
I will tell you this...when we did the fiancé visa for my wife the day she did the interview at the embassy 100% of the ladies that were trying to get tourist visas (that she saw) were denied. A couple doing fiancé visas were denied too.
We applied for hers in May and in August it was done. This was 2014-2015 though so it’s obviously different now.
I have heard with Wise it’s instant. I have not had that experience. I sent it this time yesterday and it deposited about 2pm today. Less than 24 hours from US to BKK bank.
While I have not done it I have read several times that it is possible. People do it both ways. I read you just change your reason at the renewal. Instead of retirement it’s marriage to Thai.
