you have to go to Muang Thong Thani immigration office in BKK. Go to the 2nd floor and report your address there. If you do it yourself you fill out a TM47 and the receipt is the bottom of the page
You need a lease. Be sure that the lease includes the documents proving the person renting to you on the lease is the owner of the condo (not good at remembering the names of these things). But one looked like a deed to a house with the floor plan. Also the owners ID card copy. If they are used to renting to foreigners they should (are supposed to) do it for you. Make sure you get the receipt.
If you have to do it yourself you need those documents.
Bangkok Bank on 2nd road in Pattaya. Very close to Soi 6. I opened mine there with my passport, 90 day visa and a smile. No work permit. No letter from the embassy. Nothing.
What we found was the mall branches were most difficult.
It’s been down for a while. Lots of promises as to when it will return.
I did my in person today at MTT. In and out in minutes. They make you hand write a TM47. Then they scanned my old one, printed a new one and threw away the one I wrote. No idea why I had to write it. But TIT. 🤷🏻♂️
not for me in BKK. I have to show the updated bank book when I pick up the extension. I’m currently “under consideration” and they told me the only thing I have to do when I come back is make sure my bank book is updated again. So once I get the extension then I’m free to do whatever.
One of the enduring problems with “definitive advice” in this forum is that definitive advice for BKK or Ubon immigration won’t be definitive advice for your local immigration. So while it sounds like someone is being a smart ass to say “ask immigration” it’s actually the best advice available.
Unless, of course, someone has recently renewed their visa in your specific office.
